As an artisan coffee roaster, I often receive requests and orders for “Fair Trade-Organic-Shade Grown” coffees. In an effort to assist and educate our friends and customers, I like to take the time and explain the differences.  We often read and hear about Organic, Shade Grown and Fair Trade Coffees.  While these terms are often used cohesively, they are in fact are separate and distinct.  To better understand these differences let’s visit each individually.

July Newsletter Is NOW Available to Read Online

"It is often said that water crisis and scarcities will at some point lead to armed conflict. Whatever else divides the human community, whether we live upstream or downstream, in cities or in rural areas, water issues - the global water cycle itself - should link us in a common effort to protect and share it equitably, sustainably and peacefully. "
Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations

Riverside Neighborhood is sponsoring the first ever chicken coop tour in Everett. This self-guided tour will give tour-goers the opportunity to see how city dwellers raise their chickens, view a variety of coop designs, ask fowl questions and learn about backyard chicken keeping.
